FIDE organises a congress every two years. The next FIDE one will take place from 19 to 22 May 2027 in Helsinki. Three themes are defined for each congress, and each national federation is asked to appoint rapporteurs and draft a national report on each theme.
For 2027, the selected themes are:
Topic I: Financing the Priorities of the Union: Budget, Own Resources, Common Debt, Private Investing
Topic II: The Union’s External Borders and Fundamental Rights
Topic III: Strategic Autonomy? Legal Construction of European Industrial Policies
In collaboration with the research centres to which the various rapporteurs are affiliated, BEDER is organising presentations of the national reports.
📌 The first presentation (Topic I: Financing the Priorities of the Union: Budget, Own Resources, Common Debt, Private Investing) is being organised in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Constitutional Research (CIRC) and will take place online and at the UCLouvain Saint-Louis campus on Friday 5 June 2026 from 12:30 to 14:00.
The team of rapporteurs, comprising Norman Van der Putten, Mathias El Berhoumi, Louise Fromont and Ilaria Gambardella, will present the results of their work and answer questions from participants.
