Last Friday, we held the second annual BEDER event, the Belgian Association for European Union Law.
BEDER aims to connect the diverse community in Belgium that works with EU law — in universities, institutions, the legal professions, the judiciary, and the business world. Through active exchange and dialogue, the network promotes a richer understanding and a more impactful application of EU law.
🎓 Scientific Programme
This year, the scientific part — “EU Values in Practice” — was structured around three highly topical panels:
– Migration and the Rule of Law
– The role of IA in Governance and Justice
– The Protection of Media Freedom
Insightful discussions and excellent contributions from all speakers and chairs!
🏛️ General Assembly
In the institutional segment of the day, we took stock of the past productive year and announced the projects that lie ahead, including:
– our launch event,
– the presentation of three Belgian reports at the 2025 FIDE conference;
– the forthcoming BEDER collection published with Larcier-Intersentia;
– the upcoming BEDER training offer;
– and a fantastic series of activities of the Young BEDER team — warm congratulations to them for their energy and dedication!
🙏 A heartfelt thank you to all participants, speakers, chairs, the BEDER Board, and all members of Young BEDER for their continuous support and engagement. BEDER thrives thanks to you. Photos from the event will be published soon on our website — stay tuned!
